Version 1.4 (1 November 2018)
This update adds support for Office 2019, extends a few features, and gives you more control over installation.
Support for Office 2019
Acrolinx for Microsoft Office now supports Office 2019. We removed support for Office 2010 while we were at it.
Font Exclusion for Microsoft Word
Your Content Profile can now exclude text that is written in a certain font. If you use different fonts for different types of content in the same document, this will come in handy. For example, let's say you use Courier to include snippets of code in your content. You can now make sure that Acrolinx doesn't read the code written in Courier font. You do this in your Content Profile. This requires Acrolinx Core Platform 2018.10 or later.
Check Selection in Outlook
No more embarrassing typos. Acrolinx can now check a selection of your e-mail content.
Selectively Install Integrations for Office
Previously, it was only possible to install Acrolinx for Office for all applications - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. We've introduced an MSI parameter so you can now install Acrolinx for the applications you choose.
Locate Issues in Speaker Notes
In PowerPoint, Acrolinx was able to read the text from speaker notes, but Sidebar cards were inactive. Acrolinx now navigates you to issues in speaker notes, and you can replace suggestions with a click. You'll need to update your Content Profile for this to work.
Improved PowerPoint SmartArt Support
In PowerPoint, Acrolinx wasn't able to highlight issues, replace suggestions, or check selections of text in SmartArt. Now, Acrolinx can do all that! You'll need to update your Content Profile for this to work.
Highlighting Was Imprecise
Sometimes Acrolinx couldn't accurately highlight issues in Word and PowerPoint. We implemented a new library for highlighting and replacement across all our Microsoft Office Integrations. With this change, we've managed to improve highlighting precision in general.
Cards for Field Codes Grayed Out When Clicked
Previously, Acrolinx couldn't handle field codes in Word. If you clicked a Sidebar card for an issue within a field code, the card would immediately become grayed out. Now, Acrolinx navigates to field code issues as you'd expect.
We've developed and tested this version of Acrolinx on Microsoft Office versions 2013, 2016, and 2019 (32-bit and 64-bit).
