Export Terms

To export a terminology file, follow these steps:

  1. In the Navigation Menu, click Terminology Import and Export > Export
  2. In the File Options section, enter a file name.
  3. Choose one of the following file formats:
    • ACTIF to export a file in the native Acrolinx terminology exchange format.
    • Custom to export into any XML-based format used by other terminology management solutions.
    • CSV to export a delimited text or CSV file.
    • OLIF to export an OLIF file.
  4. (Follow this step only if you selected the Custom XML format option) Select a Transformation option from the Transformation Dropdown in the Format-specific Options.
  5. (Follow this optional step if you selected the CSV format option) Open the Format-specific Options to configure the advanced CSV options.
The default value delimiter for CSV files is a comma. In most cases, you don’t have to change the advanced CSV options. The default CSV options are sufficient to export most CSV files. Check the advanced CSV options to export your CSV file with another value delimiter.

  6. Locate the import file using the Browse button.
  7. (Optional) Use the radio buttons to select an item in the Saved Export Configurations table.

If you’re exporting for the first time, the saved export configurations table is always empty.

  8. (Optional) In the Term Filter Selection, you can use the Filter to define the range of terms you want to export.

If you haven’t used a Filter before, see the topic Create a Filter first.

    • Open the Filter Menu to define your filter criteria, or click Open to use a saved filter.

  9. Click Finish.
  10. In the Export Finished dialog that displays, right-click the download link and choose Save Target As to download your file.
  11. (Optional) Click the Save Export Configuration button to save your filter criteria.
